Question: In what ways do the lives of great leaders show a mixture of achievements and setbacks?  Do you think less of leaders who show weakness or encounter failure?  Think of one or two great leaders, either living or dead, and freewrite about triumph and tragedy in their lives.

Some leaders have more setbacks than achievements (George W Bush), and some have a good mixture of the two. Buddha had to face many setbacks before he found his achievements. I think if a leader has more setbacks than achievements they will get a lot of hate, but everyone has weaknesses. In a leader, however, that person should have more achievements. Buddha was a great leader who tried many times to become happy by starving himself, indulging, and trying other things which he failed at. He finally found the right path and taught others. Most presidents face setbacks when they make a decision not everyone agrees with.
